Youth Theatre
Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre for ages 12 to 18, directed by Arc
"I did the workshop in the summer with Arc... I just wanted to let you know I got an A in my unit 1 GCSE exam in drama and it's all thanks to you boosting my confidence. Thank you, Sam!"
If you are aged 12 or over and enjoy performing, Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre is for you! After the success of recent productions including 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', The Clowning Odyssey and The World Today, Arc is now inviting new members to join its committed team of young people for weekly rehearsals working towards the next exciting production.
Funded by the Borough, Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre was formed in 2002 to offer new opportunities for young people to learn drama and presentation skills alongside professional actors. With 14 main productions including original devised pieces and classics ranging from Shakespeare to Willy Russell, and a host of other special performances under its belt, Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre meets weekly to develop acting skills and drama techniques, including voice-work, improvisation, script-reading, character development and team-building activities.
As well as the chance for members to win the special Jack Petchey Outstanding Achievement Award, Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre also offers the opportunity to take part in a variety of other exciting youth projects. In addition to West End and local theatre outings, free specialist workshops, training and courses, participants have also taken part in film productions, residential trips, festivals and outreach projects.
Visit our Jack Petchey Outstanding Achievement Award page and read about all our winners!
Barking & Dagenham Youth Theatre is open to everyone aged 12 to 18, regardless of ability or experience. You don't need to audition - all we ask for is commitment, energy and enthusiasm.
